FAQ

Is this an official government or OFSI check?
No. DirectorScreen UK is an independent private service. We read the same open data anyone can — the OFSI consolidated list and the Companies House API — and apply a name-matching engine. It is an information tool, not a regulated AML service, and it does not by itself satisfy customer due diligence under the Money Laundering Regulations 2017.
A match came up. Does that mean the person is sanctioned or disqualified?
No. Many people share a name. Every match is graded probable (name and birth month/year agree), possible (name only, or only the birth year agrees) or weak, and every one needs verifying against identity documents before you act. We never report a match as confirmed.
What if a source is down?
The layer shows UNKNOWN — never "clear". A failed sanctions check is not a clean one; re-run it.
What is in the £9.99 report?
Every name screened (officers, PSCs, the company itself), every sanctions and disqualification match with its grade, similarity score, regime, designation date and statement of reasons, the disqualification periods and companies involved, and a dated PDF for your compliance file.
